P365-Day 63: Bandarpunch...view from Mussoorie - Uttarakhand

Bandarpoonch, which literally means "Tail of the monkey" is a mountain range of the Garhwal division of the Himalayas, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is believed that lord Hanuman, the monkey god went to its summit to extinguish his tail when it caught fire in Lanka.

  

The group has 3 peaks namely To White Peak, Bandarpoonch Peak and Kalanag (black serpent) peak

  1. . These pictures were taken from Mussoorie which offers some splendid scenery of the greater Himalaya.
