P365 - DAY126: Poetry in wheels

Image
Well, I love bike ride and these pictures were taken during a bike ride. Riding a two wheeler gives you a completely different prospective to see the world. For me, its not a combination of man and machine but it's like body and soul.

P365 - DAY124: Lone survivor

In the series of random pictures, today I am posting the picture of an age old tree of Mussoorie Mall Road. It has witnessed the transformation of this area from a mere hunting station to the Queen of Hills and still standing tall.

P365 - DAY123: Har Ki Pauri (हर की पौड़ी)

Image
It is a famous ghat on the banks of the Ganges in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Literally, "Har" means "Lord Shiva" and "Pauri" means "steps". Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu are believed to have visited the Brahmakund in Har Ki Pauri in the Vedic times. It is believed that it is precise spot where the Ganges leaves the mountains and enters the plains. The ghat is on the west bank of Ganges canal through which the Ganges is diverted just to the north. Har Ki Pauri is also the area where thousands of pilgrims converge and the festivities commence during the Kumbha Mela, which takes place every twelve years, and the Ardh Kumbh Mela, which takes place every six years. King Vikramaditya is said to have built it in 1st century BC in the memory of his brother, Bharthari who had come to meditate here on the bank of the Ganges. A very famous and spiritual Ganga Aarti is held here everyday

P365 - DAY122: God is everywhere

Image
For a believer, God is everywhere and this composition depicted it very symbolically and beautifully. In this photo the idol of Goddess Ganga is facing in one direction while the statue of Lord Shive towards the other direction as if conveying the message "East or West...God is everywhere."

P365 - DAY120: Cloudy...Perfect for Photography

Image
Neither sunny nor rainy...the cloudy weather is considered the most preferable time for photography. It is because in one hand , therevery much chances of overexposed photos in sunny condition while on the other hand your subject and equipments are not safe during rain. But under clouds...it's a complete picture altogether. Following are two pictures of very different locations under similar weather conditions i.e. cloudy. One is of lake city Nainital while the other is of Mussoorie.

Image
This is a photo of a tree whose branch was freshly cut from its trunk. At first glance, the shot was pretty ordinary but the thing which caught my attention was a blooming branch just beside the remains of old branch. It made the composition, an amalgamation of beginning and end of life at the same time.

P365 - DAY115: Char Minar and the City of Hyderabad

Image

Offcours life is full of colours but sometimes a black and white photograph is more appealing than a coloured photo. The combination of only two prime colours is irresistible. P365 - DAY105: Fire painting

Image
Well this is a photo of buring flames which are coming out from a stove (अंगीठी). The trick here was a slower shutter speed and high ISO. It was a very unique display of light trails and made the composition like a painting.
