P365-Day12: Baijnath (Vaidyanath) बागनाथ Temple, Bageshwar-Uttarakhand

First of all, I apologise for the inordinate delay for the post. There was some problem in my blog as a result I was unable to post daily pictures. However, the same is sorted out now and here I am. Presenting you all my previous post till date.

Day-12: This is the famous Baijnath temple of Bageshwar which is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Built by the Kumaon Katyuri king in around 10th centuary A.D.  The group of temples are situated on the left bank of the Gomti River in Baijnath city which is approximately 20 km away from Bageshwar  district  headquarters.

The main temple that houses a beautiful idol of Parvati is chiseled in black stone.

I got the opportunity to visit this ASI  heritage  site on October 23, 2012 and here I present you my memories of that trip.
