Today, I decided to post two random pics completely different from each other. One is of rolling skates and another is of pine fruit. The shape of oak fruit and colors of skates attracted my mind for the composition.

The boats which are meant to float in the lake are tied at the corner due to low footfall of tourists in the off season. Yet they offered some excellent subject and nice composition. These pictures are of Sat Tal lake which is a prominent place for boating in these single or two seater dingy. Hope you like today's photo composition. I will post more pics of boat with different composition in coming days.

These are photos of a beautiful cold morning at Haldwani, Uttarakhand. It was taken a few days back and the site was such a beautiful that I can't resist my camera and captured them for lifetime. Wish you a very happy good morning to all of you.

Greetings to all. Today, I achieved the first milestone by successfully completing 100 days of Project-365 (P365). to celebrate this feat, I am posting today one of my favorite shot of recent times. This picture of wooden log was captured by me at Sattal (सात ताल), Nainital yesterday. The setting instantly caught my imagination and I played with my camera after a very long time. Unlike the hustle and bustle of the peak tourist season, Sattal was very calm and peaceful yeaterday. Hope this journey will achieve its goal and go beyond!!!   

Nainital..the picturesque lake city..a famous hill station..summer capital and one of the most visited tourist hotspot in Uttarakhand. I captured this lake from various angle but never from the  top.  In order to present a different view of Nainital,  I took these pics from the trolley that operates between Nainital to Snow view. Hope you enjoy this Sunday with arial Nainital.

Jageshwar is a very holy Hindu pilgrimage town in Almora district of Uttarakhand. It is situated 35 kilometers northeast of Almora  in Almora -  Pithoragarh Highway amidst the lush green Deodar forest at an altitude of approx 1900 meters.    The temple carries the Nagesh Jyotirlinga (one of the twelve holy Jyotirling) dedicated to lord Shiva. The group of temples city comprises many large and small stone temples, dating 9th to 13th century AD.  Amongst which the oldest and main shrine are: Mahamrityunjay temple. This temple of Shiva is eastern facing and the Linga is worshipped as the saviour from death - महामृत्युंजय. The unique linga has an eye shaped opening. Tarun Jageshwar is one of the principal temples situated in the temple premises. The temple has two dwarapalas (door guardians) in the form of the armed Nandi and Skandi. This is a west facing temple of Shiva. Here, Shiva is worshipped in the form of Nagesh/Jageshwar...

Golu Devata or Lord Golu (गॊलू दॆवता) or Goljyu is the legendary mythological and historical God of Justice of the Kumaun region of Uttarakhand state.  This Golu Devta Chitai temple is about 10 km from Almora city in Almora-Pithoragarh road. Golu  Devata is thought to be as an incarnation of Gaur Bhairav (Shiva) as the dispenser of justice by the devotees with extreme faith. He was son of Katyuri Genersl Jhal Rai and his mother was Kalinka. He was born at Champawat. There are many temples of Golu Devata in Kumaun, and the most popular are at Chitai, Champawat, Ghorakhal & Chamarkhan (Tehsil Tarikhet, District Almora). Devotees in turn offer bells and sacrifice animals after the fulfillment of their wishes. Thousands of bells of every size can be seen hanging over the temple premises. Many devotees file a lot of written petitions daily, which are received by the temple.
